Another Wonderful Week!

We have had a great start to the second quarter of the year!
In Bible, we have been learning about what it means to be in fellowship with God. This week we found that because we know God is omnipresent, He is with us when we are afraid or when we are sad. We looked at some verses about these topics and worked with groups to discuss the verses and make a poster to show what they mean. This was the first time the students did a group project and I was so proud of the way they worked together so well!

The students have also enjoyed building oral fluency by reading with partners. We learned how to visualize what we read to help us understand the events of the story.

We finished our science unit on habitats. We reviewed what we learned by playing a version of the game "headbands." The students had to ask questions about animals, climate, and plants in order to guess which habitat was on their headband. I think I was laughing more than the students, especially when they would go cross-eyed trying to look at what was on their head. :)

We also had TWO birthdays and TWO lost teeth this week!

...and Michaiyla's beautiful new smile!

It was also Michaiyla's birthday this week!! Happy Birthday!! We are so thankful for you!!!
Micah also turned 8 this week! Happy Birthday Micah!! We are so glad you are in 2nd grade!!!

We started earning points in the classroom for staying on task, working hard, and obeying right away with a good attitude! When the class gets to a certain number of points, they get to choose a special activity. This week they chose to meet our dog, Bruiser. My husband brought him to school during recess and the class got to play with him!

Have a great weekend! I'm looking forward to celebrating Thanksgiving with some special activities next week!
