Celebrating Christmas!

This week we learned how Christmas is celebrated in different countries.
We made poinsettias and ate tortillas while we learned about Christmas in Mexico.

We learned that in France children set their shoes by their fireplaces before going to bed on Christmas Eve. When they wake up on Christmas morning, their shoes are filled with candy!

We also learned about Chinese New Year celebrations and Christmas in Germany.

We celebrated THREE birthdays this week!!
Cole turned 8 on December 6th, but since he was sick we had to postpone the celebration until this week.
Happy Birthday Cole! You bring joy to our class!!

We also celebrated Connor's birthday a week early, his actual birthday is on Christmas!!

Happy Birthday Connor! We are thankful for you and your smile!!

And finally, we celebrated Tatiana's 8th birthday!
Happy Birthday Tatiana! We are so glad you are in 2nd grade this year!!

Mrs. Lefever, who helps out in our classroom each afternoon, saw these fake teeth at the store and thought they would make the perfect Christmas presents for this class...

... I think she was right!

We were finally able to have 2nd Grade Family Night! Thank you so much for coming, it was such a fun night! The students did a fantastic job with "The Grinch!" I uploaded the video to an unlisted YouTube channel. Check it out here!

We had a great time playing games, making crafts, eating snacks, and saying goodbye to friends at our Christmas party!

I hope you all have a WONDERFUL time celebrating the HOPE we have in our SAVIOR!!
I will miss my dear second graders and I am already looking forward to seeing them in January! Is it really almost half way through the year already?? I will be praying for each student, that they might come to a better understanding of who they are in Christ over this Christmas season!
MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
